YA LOST

Wow what a turnaround a week can make!

Marlow ran out comfortable winners against top of the table Yateley with a tactical masterclass from Jedders, strangled the life out of Yateley and gave them no space to play.

A change of formation delivered a defensive-first platform against Yateley, who had scored 20 goals in the first three matches. Marlow carried out the instructions to perfection, and the whole squad put in a hard shift and defended from the front to the back.

Though with a defend first mindset, Marlow still managed to create opportunities on the break. This resulted in two excellent first half short corners, where Captain Robbo, unfortunately not the marauding Man Utd star, but a school teacher, (how dynamic) slotted both into the far bottom corner. This gave Marlow the platform to defend and changed Yateley’s preparations completely.

The second half remained the same, with Jedders, aka Pep, and George, aka, Lee Carsley, offering support and direction to make sure the discipline and shape remained. Yateley increased the pressure to try and get back into the game, however, Marlow’s defensive mindset did not change, and they could only muster a few shots on target where keeper, Gladiator Tom, ‘you shall not score’ dealt with in a very composed manner.

Jedders announced at the end of the game, that the whole squad, including Lee Carsley, were men of the match, as it put Marlow back in the mix to get to the top of the league.

Celebratory drinks were had in the opposition’s clubhouse, with Jedders glowing in the satisfaction of the tactical master plan coming off.
The management team, now expanded to 42 members with more hanger-on’s than Taylor Swift, reconvened to go to the disco, where Robbo delighted in showing his 1970s dancing skills while reenacting his two goals.

However, when Yateley reported that someone had vandalised their scoreboard by writing that Marlow won, adding ‘Ya lost’, Police were reportedly seen asking for clues as to who this could be. Their latest description of the suspect is: Tall, plays in defence, dad’s a coach, age 21, and his mum wont let him play ‘Call of Duty’, typical of the police, they have no idea.

To keep the momentum going, Jedders, has already put together some warm weather training for the squad. Well he actually said ‘turn up to training on Wednesday with an extra jumper’.

Great tactical formation, great team discipline, and a fantastic result!
