Short, sharp, passing hockey saw Marlow Men's 3rd XI run riot over Amersham & Chalfont 2 to secure their 2nd win of the season and top spot in the league.
Marlow started well from the off and were the dominant team throughout the game. Robin Walls started the riot off with a goal after 10 minutes; however he should have had a hat trick by this point in the game!!! Anyway.... Marlow played very well throughout the day and were deserving winners, goals from Gareth Baber (2), Robin Walls (3), Che Armstrong (1) and Chris Burnett (1) meant they finished the game 7 - 0 and walked of the pitch with their head held high!!!
This game was a massive improvement from last weekend when Marlow struggled to find the net. The team as a whole passed the ball around very well on a pitch that can only be described as Amersham's version of Bora Bora Beach!!! Credit must go to the defence again who kept their second clean sheet of the season and also Gareth Baber and Gareth Murfitt who made their league debuts this season for the 3rd XI and both played exceptional. Credit is also due to the clubs leading goal scorer (Robin Walls) from last year who bagged a hat trick and 2 assist.
Marlow now look forward to a hard game next week V Slough and hope the boys bring the scoring boots again.
