It was a late 4.30 push back for Marlow 2s at Reading this week. The first half was very even, with fantastic attacking play from both teams. Marlow’s first goal came from a beautiful move, started by a pass from Sarah Briggs to Tracey Finch, who passed the ball to Bex Kwan and was finished by Anya Swales on her debut. Marlow fought well as a team and kept Reading’s attack at bay.
The second half was just as close as the first. Reading 2As scored a fantastic goal after some great individual skill and a strike that Helen Mac could do nothing about. Marlow had great moments of play and were able to pass the ball round the back and also find the gaps to supply the forwards. Man of the match Helen Southerden supplied the ball to Bex Kwan for a clinical finish from the top of the circle, giving Marlow the victory. It was a gutsy team effort, with everyone leaving the pitch exhausted. The 2s are now looking forward to their next big game against Oxford Hawks 3s, who have also won two from two.
