On Sunday 21st September, Marlow Ladies 1s took on Havant Ladies 1s in the first game in the Cup competition. Despite Havant being in the league above, the team stepped up to the occasion and the intensity of every player was phenomenal. For the second day running, Marlow were on top form and went into the lead, with a Short Corner deflection from Sophie Philp making the score 1-0. Unfortunately during the 2nd half, despite all of Marlow’s efforts, Havant went on to score 2 goals, one of which being in the last 2 minutes of play. Though the team were disappointed with the loss, it was again a great team performance and there were many positives to take from the game. A great first weekend for the Marlow Ladies 1s that will hopefully continue!
